Membership and Mission: An Introduction to Society and Association Publishing

  

This training seminar will provide attendees with a broad overview of society and association publishing, giving them the “quick start” they need to grasp the mission and role of these publishers and their challenges and goals within the broader context of the academic ecosystem. The session program is composed of several “modules” covering the major facets of society and association publishing:

Featuring speakers from a broad range of societies, the program has been designed especially for earlier- to mid-career professionals currently working in scholarly publishing and hoping to gain a more rounded perspective on the society and association publishing environment. It will also be useful to partners and service providers wishing to enhance their understanding of the critical role that societies and associations play within their disciplines and within scholarly communications more broadly. 

 

The OnDemand Video Content Library is the “anywhere, anytime” source for scholarly communications professionals to learn about timely topics and recent developments in scholarly publishing. This asynchronous learning platform offers a variety of recorded video content that users can access when it’s convenient for them. Some content is free to view on the platform and is denoted by an open lock icon.  

Once you have completed your registration, log in at ondemand.sspnet.org with your SSP username (email) and password to access your purchased content items. Content items will not be available until their release date. 


Registration Pricing: 

Single user, access for 6 months from time of registration
SSP Member Registration - $200
Non-member Registration - $250
Low/Middle Income Country Member Registration (as classified by World Bank) - $120
Low/Middle Income Country Non-Member Registration (as classified by World Bank) - $135
Librarian/Student/Retired/Researcher/Funder – $135

Residents of countries classified as low, lower middle, or upper middle on the World Bank List of Economies quality for a discounted registration rate.  Select the Main Registration type and the discount is applied to registrations for attendees residing in any country that is not classified “high income.”

To register additional people or someone other than yourself, click on Register Someone Else after logging in. After entering their contact details, click on their profile icon below and select the appropriate registration type from the Registration Options box. To edit their contact details, highlight their profile icon by clicking on it and then clicking on the edit icon below their status information. 

To cancel your own registration, click the Cancel My Registration button. To cancel other registrations, click Proceed to Checkout and remove the items from your cart on the next page.
